Tournament Report - Middle of nowhere
8 October 2009
It was once again time for a live tournament. It was a long time since I last played live and I have looked forward to this tour for quite a while. Especially as I would meet several players I had only spoken with at Internet. The tournament was played in the middle of nowhere in the middle of Sweden and it was a second chance tour with approximately $80 buyin and $50 for a rebuy or add-on. A solid mix of people showed up, bloggers, Swedish community members, local club members.
Do you know your distractions?
16 September 2009
This week I am going to continue on how to improve your focus of the game and because of that improve your results. Last week we talked about how to structure your game time. However, having scheduled time to play poker is not going to be enough if you are not being focused when you are actually playing. Are you playing right now at the same time you are reading this?
Time for a beer or time for poker?
10 September 2009
OK, you can do both at the same time. I just do not do it, but that is not what I was going to talk about. Today’s topic is going to be how you organize your play for maximal winning over time. Many people I meet and hear about want to start playing poker in order to have a more flexible life. To sit home and be able to decide when they are going to bed, how long they can sleep and not having someone else (most often a boss of some kind) to do it seems to be a big part of why they want to play poker for a living.
Back to the basics
25 August 2009
First I would like to apology for the slow updaterate now during the summer. I am now a married man and as such things takes extra time. I have been changing game now for some time and went back to the basics, playing Fixed Limit Holdem. The game that I started to play 5 years ago, and the game I have been able to adjust to the most. I think it is a good idea for all players to play different types of poker to find out what suits them the best, and to develop new skills. I know that many NL players says when they try to FL that this has helped them open up their game in NL as well.
Tournament Report: Latvia and Portugal (Part 2)
24 June 2009
36 hours after I land on Swedish ground I depart again, this time for Portugal. For this trip I took my family with me and we stayed in a town called Albufeira. The tournament I played here was a €1650 tournament with 420 participants in the town Vilamoura. This whole event was a lot more serious than in Riga with a lot of press and cameras everywhere. I played day 1B and immediately when I sat down at the table I realized things were not going to be as easy as I had hoped for. 8 out of 10 players already had their sunglasses and tried to stare everyone down. There was not a single word said in 2 hours even if I tried to get someone to talk. A former winner of a big European tournament was sitting 2 places to my right and I had a really good Romanian player directly to my right that later ended up at the final table.
Tournament Report: Latvia and Portugal (Part 1)

I am now back in Sweden after two live tours in Europe that I feel have helped me take my live poker play to the next level even if it did not finish in any money positions. Playing against good opponents is the best way to become a better player, even if it is not the best way to earn money in the short term.
Tell me the truth you...
22 May 2009
A swedish rockband called Clawfinger made a song called "the truth" back in the 90's. I do not remember more from the song than the part I wrote in the topic and I doubt it correlates in any way to poker more than in my twisted mind. The topic makes me think of an important thing aside from the poker table that will help you become a better player.
Small stakes and big wins
23 April 2009
Have you ever said to yourself ”If I only had a bigger bankroll things would be better”? A bigger bankroll could allow you to play at higher stakes, more expensive tournaments, or just allow you to increase your spending. Today I am going to talk about a shortcut to increase your bankroll instead of slowly building it up with a good bankroll management (I guess I have to return to that topic in a later article).
You cannot buy a car with tournament chips!

This week I promised to tell you one of those “secrets” that really made me step up my game and improve my win rate a lot in Sit and Go tournaments. If you do not know how these tournaments are working, please take a look at the “First steps to poker” - section here at Pokerworld.
Whom should you take advices from?
28 March 2009
Hi there, let me introduce myself. My name is Per Lindholm and I am totally unknown to you and the most of the international poker scene. In fact, I am probably unknown to the most parts of the world as I have not had my 15 minutes of fame yet. I am from Sweden, a small country (by population) in the northern Europe that has had its fair share of good poker players during the last few years. I have played poker professionally and semi-professionally since 2005 and I dare say I have a good knowledge of the game. I am here to give you advices on how to improve your game and help you become a better player over time.
